
A corporate lawyer by training Sankalita Shome has worked in the highly volatile world of mergers and acquisitions in Mumbai, before starting her journey as a development practitioner. Having lived in four countries on three different continents, she has worked on the resettlement of the refugee community in Cairo, where she also co-founded the Cairo Refugee Film Festival. Currently based in Bangladesh, she has experience in visualising the utilisation of modern technology for designing interventions focusing on women, children and youth and has been part of a pioneering initiative to use ICT in the context of cross-border child trafficking.
