Projects that use ICT interventions to foster good governance through efficient systems and greater transparency will be given recognition under this category. The focus will be on identifying individuals, businesses and organisations who are using digital tools and media to deliver content-rich solutions that (a) strengthen democratic processes and significantly improve service delivery and quality in transactions between governments and citizens; (b) bolster public policies to make them more effective in attaining socially desirable goals; (c) encourage efficiency in information exchange, (d) facilitate greater participation of citizens in the policy making and governance process through greater transparency; and (e) enables public access to data needed for developing innovative products and services on a commercial or non-commercial basis. This category will reward all e-governance initiatives which have helped governments to boost efficiency or accomplish targets irrespective of sectors, geographies, departments and ministries.
